Galibi 2- of 3 daagse arrangement
Paramaribo – Albina – Galibi
We depart by bus from Paramaribo through the Commewijne district to Albina, which forms the border with St. Laurent, French Guiana on the Marowijne River. This route takes us over the Wijdenbosch Bridge, from where you have a beautiful view of the capital. Before arriving in Albina, there are several stops to stretch your legs or to use sanitary facilities. The bus also travels via the bauxite town of Moengo to Albina. From Albina you go by boat in a northerly direction to Galibi. In Christiaankondre stands Myrysji Lodge with a beautiful view of the river. In the afternoon, a village walk is scheduled, during which you will learn about the Indigenous people and their way of life. After dinner, you will take a night cruise to the laying beach of the sea turtles.
After breakfast, a visit to Tiger Bank (sandbank) is on the program. The sand is reminiscent of a sea beach, and you can sunbathe and swim. In the early afternoon, we return to the lodge for a delicious meal. After lunch, you may spend the afternoon as you wish. After dinner, you can witness the Samboera, traditional dance.
Galibi – Albina – Paramaribo
After dinner, there will be time to visit the on-site souvenir store. After this, we check out and depart by boat back to Albina. On the way, we make a stop on the French side of the river. In St. Laurent, we take a short walk. On your own, you can take a tour of the local bagno (prison) museum where Papillion was detained. After this we leave for Albina and enjoy a lunch on the river and then depart back to Paramaribo.
