We depart from Zorg en Hoop by plane to airstrip Palumeu. After arrival, the check in takes place. After check in, we will go by dugout canoe to Palawa Island. Here we will picnic, and you will have the opportunity to swim and relax in the rapids. In the afternoon, we visit the village of Palumeu to meet some village elders. After dinner, we will tell you about the culture of the Trio and Wajana Indians.
This day, after breakfast, we depart by korjaal to Poti Hill for the trek and short climb to the top. Here you will enjoy a beautiful view. On Palawa we will have a picnic. In the late afternoon, we sail back to the village for a closer look at the Indians. After dinner, there will be a demonstration of some musical instruments as used by the Indians. After this, we will continue by boat for a beautiful evening boat ride.
In the morning hours, we take a boat trip of about 1.5 hours to the impressive Mabuka rapids. Here we will take a forest walk, and you can swim and relax in a hammock. During the afternoon, we will return to Palumeu. For those interested, you can make a village visit to learn bow and arrow shooting with the Indians.
After dinner, we make a cozy campfire under the beautiful starry sky.
During a jungle tour, the guide will tell you all about the flora and fauna and explain how the indigenous people obtain food. In the afternoon there is time for paddling, swimming or hammocking.
On this last day, after breakfast we will take a walk to the Indian village, where you can buy homemade souvenirs. After lunch, we depart by plane back to Paramaribo.
